Congressman Issa to deliver PAW-GOV keynote

Congressman Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and a long-time advocate for open government, will deliver the keynote speech at Predictive Analytics World for Government (PAW-GOV), set for Sept. 12-13 in Washington, D.C. Issa’s talk: “Fighting Waste, Fraud and Abuse with DATA.”

Congressman Issa introduced the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act, or DATA Act, which established an independent body to track federal spending, including grants, contracts, loans and agencies’ internal expenses, on a single electronic platform, using consistent reporting standards and data identifiers, and making all of the information available to the public.

In addition to Congressman Issa, Predictive Analytics World for Government offers a line-up of top government experts including a keynote address from Earl Devaney, chairman, Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, as well as a special session, “Pursuit Through Cyberspace – Predictive Analytics,” from David Williams, inspector general, U.S. Postal Service.

The program features case studies so attendees can witness how predictive analytics is applied by numerous government departments and agencies, including: Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Postal Service, USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, Department of Homeland Security, Social Security Administration, Department of Defense, National Security Agency, NASA and more.
