Pilot Flying J uses predictive analytics to optimize business operations

Industry News

Pilot Flying J, which operates 550 interstate travel centers and travel plazas in North America and is one of the top 10 privately held companies in the United States, has purchased and deployed Predixion Insight™, Predixion Software’s collaborative predictive analytics solution that fully integrates with Microsoft Corp.’s business intelligence (BI) platform.

Pilot Flying J is using Predixion Insight to develop powerful market basket association models that help the company highly optimize inventory and reduce overall costs from its operations. In addition, Predixion Insight has assisted Pilot Flying J in identifying possible product placement non-compliance in it stores and kicked outliers out on a regularly scheduled basis for further examination by marketing personnel and sales analysts.

“Gone are the days where predictive analytics could only be performed by a few, highly trained statisticians,” says Predixion Software CEO Simon Arkell. “We are pleased to be working with Pilot Flying J to bring these powerful analytical capabilities to its mainstream user community.”
