“We are making fact-based decisions in less time with more accuracy and less emotion. It took an edict from the top to make it happen, and we had to learn that being directionally correct is good enough and to accept the ‘80/20 rule’ for completeness of information.”

SAS predictive analytics rank highly in inaugural Victory Index
SAS has been included in the inaugural Victory Index report from Hurwitz & Associates on predictive analytics. SAS was among 12 companies to be evaluated and was recognized based on strength of brand and for providing a comprehensive solution set to tackle a range of problems.
Designed as a market research assessment tool, the Victory Index highlights both the diverse uses of predictive analytics technology such as predicting consumer behavior, conducting economic forecasting and identifying fraud, and the vendors who make those applications possible. Led by Hurwitz & Associates Partner, Fern Halper, Ph.D., the predictive analytics study examines the most critical trends for users to consider and analyzes 12 vendor offerings in the market across four key dimensions: vision, viability, validity and value.
“In times of rapid change, rapid learning is required, and it’s the organizations leveraging analytics that excel,” says Jim Davis, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at SAS. “We continue to focus on solving our customers’ business problems. Our most innovative solutions come from direct development partnerships with customers.”
“Companies that led in the Victory Index demonstrate significant strength in brand, have a strong strategy for their technology and, most importantly, provide significant business and technical value, according to customers,” adds report author Fern Halper. “SAS received the highest overall customer satisfaction scores across customers surveyed for the Victory Index. The company supports an impressive range of customer problems; from those that are fairly straightforward to those that are more complex. These are some of the reasons it was named a Victor in the Index.”
