Certified Analytics Professional program earns ANSI accreditation

CAP-logoThe Certified Analytics Professional (CAP®) program, the only global professional certification for analytics practitioners, has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the American member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), furthering CAP’s distinction to what CIO Magazine earlier this year called one of the top “big data certifications that will pay off.”

CAP is recognized as an independent validation of the analytics body of knowledge of those who earn the certification. More than 20 percent of Fortune 100 companies employ CAPs, as do more than 200 different companies in more than 20 countries across the globe, along with government agencies, the U.S. military and other organizations.

ANSI accreditation provides a formal international endorsement that meets a global standard for the certification of personnel. Since 1918, ANSI has provided organizations across the country with industry guidelines, as well as recognizing those that consistently adhere to the highest standards. ANSI accreditation serves as an objective confirmation of the quality of not only the CAP program, but of the skills of the analytics professionals who achieve a CAP certification. From the testing process to job analysis to test administration, CAP meets the demanding criteria aimed at maximizing statistical requirements and best practices.

“We are delighted that CAP® has been recognized with this prestigious accreditation from ANSI,” says Melissa Moore, executive director of INFORMS, which manages the CAP program. “With the growing demand for analytics professionals, the ANSI accreditation provides every CAP recipient an unparalleled competitive advantage and a professional distinction that the public, their colleagues and employers can trust.”

Those who meet the high standards of CAP and pass the rigorous exam distinguish themselves and create greater value to enrich their careers. For organizations seeking to enhance their ability to transform data into actionable insights that create greater value, CAP provides a trusted means to identify, recruit, and retain top analytics talent. Survey: Despite the hype, AI adoption still in early stages

The hype surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) is intense, but for most European businesses surveyed in a recent study by SAS, adoption of AI is still in the early or even planning stages. The good news is, the vast majority of organizations have begun to talk about AI, and a few have even begun to implement suitable projects. There is much optimism about the potential of AI, although fewer were confident that their organization was ready to exploit that potential. Read more →

Data professionals spend almost as much time prepping data as analyzing it

Nearly 40 percent of data professionals spend more than 20 hours per week accessing, blending and preparing data rather than performing actual analysis, according to a survey conducted by TMMData and the Digital Analytics Association. More than 800 DAA community members participated in the survey held earlier this year. The survey revealed that data access, quality and integration present persistent, interrelated roadblocks to efficient and confident analysis across industries. Read more →
